Built-in PCI Express Mini Card Slot
PCI Express is the open standards- based successor to PCI and its variants for server- and client-system I/O interconnects. Unlike PCI and PCI-X, which are based on 32- and 64-bit parallel buses, PCI Express uses high-speed serial link technology similar to that found in Gigabit1 Ethernet, Serial ATA (SATA), and Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS). PCI Express reflects an industry trend to replace legacy shared parallel buses with high-speed point-to-point serial buses.
- Serial Technology
Provides scalable performance. - High Bandwidth
Initially, 5-80 gigabits per second (Gb/s) peak theoretical bandwidth, depending on the implementation.
- Point-to-Point Dedicated Link
Point-to-point link dedicated to each device, instead of the PCI shared bus.
- Lower Latency
Opportunities for lower latency (or delay) in server architectures, because PCI Express provides a more direct connection to the chip set North Bridge than PCI-X.

Supports Optional Intel® Turbo Memory*
Intel Turbo Memory is a new primary PC component, along with the CPU, chipset, and system memory. It caches large amounts of frequently used data for faster access by the processor. This decreases the need for hard-disk access, saving both time and power, which equates to increased performance and energy efficiency.
That's good news for users who run data-intensive software like media applications. It's also a good match to the substantial system requirements to load and run Windows Vista.
Intel Turbo Memory is a single solution that accelerates data transfer both to and from the processor. Other commercially available products support only one-way data caching.
- Reduce Boot time
Faster access to boot-up files lets the system start up more quickly.
- Improve Application Responsiveness
Data coming from Intel Turbo memory instead of the hard drive increases access speed.
- Accelerate Application Loading
Fast access by the processor to information needed to launch applications cuts lag time.
- Enhance Windows Vista
Support for Windows Vista performance features like ReadyBoost*, ReadyDrive*, and Superfetch* helps you take better advantage of the operating system.
- Save Energy
Pre-storing information reduces hard-disk spin time, which saves power.
*Available on Windows Vista 32 and 64-bit OS.

64 Bit OS - Ahead-of-the-curve
The XPC Prima P2 systems are equipped with Intel’s Enhanced Memory 64 Technology (EM64T). With Intel EM64T users can take the next step in computing evolution by moving to 64-bit. The XPC Prima P2 systems can run 64-bit applications and operating systems such as Microsoft’s Windows Vista 64-bit. Intel’s EM64T instructions allow for greater overall system performance in part of a much better efficiency. Existing 32-bit applications and operating systems will function on the XPC Prima P2 systems too for a smooth transition process.

Achieve Green Requirement
80 PLUS® Certified Power Supply
The 80 PLUS ® is an innovative, electric utility-funded incentive program to
integrate more energy-efficient power supplies into desktop computers and
servers.
The 80 PLUS ® performance specification requires power supplies in
computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy efficient. This makes an
80 PLUS certified power supply up to 33% more efficient than current power
supplies.
