The overwhelming trend among computer purchasers in the 1990's was to buy a brand new computer based on price. Price was the decisive factor for families, purchasing managers and personal computer users. This market force caused numerous problems from bad service, unregulated and poor quality products to less R&D expenditure. Companies produced computers using low quality components to save on their bottom line. Hundreds of millions of users have for too long put up with less-than-adequate computers because the market lacked a company with the vision to step out and stand up for quality and aesthetic value.

These trends lead to value erosion and a lack of confidence in computer brands.

Innovation
Since the release of the first small form factor computer which named XPC in 2001, Shuttle has continued to innovate and improve on its industry-changing design. Our Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) technology, now in its fourth generation, can efficiently cool even the hottest processors. In 2007, Shuttle builds the new cooling technology “OASIS”. The OASIS attaches to heat sinks on the northbridge chipset, the southbridge chipset and the CMOS

near the CPU socket. Shuttle combines the “ICE” and the “OASIS” two cooling technologies; completes the perfect cooling solution of computer. In fact, what began as a relatively simple CPU cooler is now an entire family of heat and noise reduction technologies called SilentX, which includes power management, airflow engineering, mechanical damping and more.

Ergonomics
From the earliest days of development, a product's ergonomics play a central role in the overall look and feel of the finished product. The aim is to create each product to seamlessly integrate into everyday usage environments. Whether that is in the office, living-room, gaming center or centralized computer cluster, the Shuttle products are designed not only to be stylish, right-sized but most importantly, silent. For this purpose, we developed several ergonomic features; front feet, stealth drive doors and even our industry favorite Silent X technologies.

In terms of noise reduction, Shuttle’s guiding principle has been the same: not technology for technology's sake, but technology for the music's sake. Our long-standing, commitment to technical excellence, product quality and industrial design all stem directly from our passion for the music.

Performance Optimization
Shuttle's determination to deliver cutting edge innovation can be seen in the motherboards that reside inside the XPC as well. New designs offer compatibility with two-slot graphics cards and provide exceptional stability through advanced four-phase electricals, not to mention the latest chipsets from long-time partners Intel, AMD NVIDIA, ATI, VIA and SiS. Further, adjustable BIOS and performance optimizing software such as XPC tools, provide unmatched value.
