Green PSU

Silent X PSU

Shuttle all series PCs have always been famous for their quiet running. But now we've made our PCs even quieter with the new SilentX power supply.

The new power supply design is lighter than previous models yet increases the peak wattage to 400W in order to accommodate today's more demanding components. Additionally, air vent design is newly optimized to prevent noise from air turbulence. The end result is a high-performance fan that outputs a mere 32 dB under a full system load. When running at a regular idle, the power supply is so quiet that you'll need to put your ear up to it in order to make sure that the fans are working!

SilentX power supplies are also updated to accommodate the latest device needs, such as dedicated 12V power and a SATA power connector for the latest hard drives.

80 PLUS® Certified Power Supply

The 80 PLUS ® performance specification is a standard which requires power supplies in computers and servers to be 80% or greater energy-efficient. This makes an 80 PLUS® certified power supply at least 33% more efficient than current power supplies.

Energy Star Compliant PCs

Uses 70% less electricity

An ENERGY STAR qualified Shuttle PCs uses 70% less electricity than computers without enabled power management features.

If left inactive, ENERGY STAR qualified XPC enter a low-power mode and use 15 watts or less. New chip technologies make power management features more reliable, dependable, and user-friendly than ever. Spending a large portion of time in low-power mode not only saves energy, but helps equipment run cooler and last longer.

Businesses that use ENERGY STAR enabled office equipment may realize additional savings on air conditioning and maintenance.

Over its lifetime, ENERGY STAR qualified Shuttle PCs in a single home office (e.g., computer, monitor, printer, and fax) can save enough electricity to light an entire home for more than 4 years.

Saving energy prevents pollution

Energy usage profoundly affects all of us, financially (though skyrocketing costs) and physically (through increased pollution). One of the key initiatives of our designers is to continuously design Shuttle computers that lower power requirements, lessening not only your energy bill but also the negative effects of high energy usage upon the environment.

Because most computer equipment is left on 24 hours a day, power management features are important for saving energy and are an easy way to reduce air pollution.

Shuttle computers leave our manufacturing plant with exceptional power management functions and components already installed. You’ll find our computers equipped with a low power sleep mode that automatically activates if you haven’t touched your computer for an extended period of time. This “sleep mode” reduces your PCs energy consumption.

The power management functions also include the ability to scale your processor performance based on your workload. The lower your needs, the less energy your Shuttle PC will consume.

Recyclable, not restricted materials

Beyond the energy required to run the machines, we also take a green approach to the packaging and design of Shuttle PCs. Our small form factor means we use less raw materials in manufacturing. It also mitigates the costs of shipping and packaging materials.

We consider the long-term impacts of energy consumption, both from and economic and an environmental perspective. We also strive to find creative ways to manufacture “green” machines that use recyclable materials instead of restricted materials.
